Direction & Focus

by Adam Axon on March 28, 2010

After an unintended two week break I’m back on the writing stage. Well actually I’ve still been writing, but in physical form. It’s great fun and reminds you a little bit of how things use to be done! If you write regularly on the net then I encourage you to give physical writing a go! Perhaps you could write a letter to a relative? It’s a very rewarding process, especially when you get a letter in return!

So where have I been for the last few weeks? Caught up in the throws of life is a fair answer. Life has a way of just capturing you at certain moments, everything else seems to fall to the wayside as your focus is on the events at hand. This can be a good and bad thing, as usual balance is the key to making sure that you don’t get too caught up in the moment! My experience over the last few weeks has generally been very positive btw :D

I think the recent lack of direction of my blog, contributed to the ease in which the flow of posts stopped. I’m still trying to piece together my life now that I’m back in Australia and my writing has always reflected my life, so it’s no surprise things have been a little helter skelter of late. Hopefully I can piece together what is a random collection of ideas, thoughts and events to make something close to a tangible existence! That should see a return to a tangible blog :P

Is it becoming obvious yet that this post is nothing more than a way to break the cycle of non posts? hehe I’m not one to do things without seeking to add value though so allow me to end with two little sound-bytes for lack of a better term.

  • Re-inforcing my earlier point, challenge yourself this week and write a physical letter to someone. It’s great fun!
  • Sometimes you can dwell on the fact that there is a lot of things wrong in the world around us, try not to forget that there is also a lot of things right :-)

Ok, time to check out, enjoy!

The Paradox of Change and The Importance of Action

March 14, 2010

Sit down and contemplate world hunger for a moment. The shear scale of the problem is enough to make even the most optimistic person despondent isn’t it? Now think about cooking an extra meal alongside your own to help feed people at the local homeless shelter. A much more achievable aim you’d agree. Now what if you take that [...]

Ask yourself…..

March 3, 2010

Look around our modern cities and you’ll see symbols of wealth, capitalism, power and “prosperity” everywhere. These symbols represent our system. The system that supports me, the system that probably supports you, the system that modern society depends on. But today I want you to ask yourself what’s that system truly worth when most of [...]
